Axon View XL provides the same functionality as the Axon View mobile application for Axon Body 3, Body 2, and Flex 2 cameras, eliminating the need for officers to use both. A user can pair their Axon Body 3, Body 2, or Axon Flex 2 camera with Axon View XL. This allows the user to review and add metadata to videos recorded by Axon Fleet and body worn cameras at the same time. The Axon View XL integration also allows users to change the settings for their camera.
This article provides information on pairing, unpairing, changing axon body camera settings, and Setting the Primary Paired Camera with View XL.
Note: If you are looking for information about connecting an Axon Body 3 camera to View XL for priority upload, see Axon Body 3 and View XL Standalone Mode.
There are some items to be aware of when pairing Axon View XL and Axon body cameras:
- A camera can only be paired with either Axon View XL or an Axon View mobile app at any one-time. If you pair your camera with Axon View XL, you must re-pair it with the Axon View mobile app to use it with a mobile device. Similarly, if you pair the camera with the Axon View mobile app, you must re-pair it with Axon View XL.
- To maintain extended battery life for the camera, Wi-Fi connectivity is actively managed and enabled on-demand. Do not be concerned if the Wi-Fi connectivity indicator is not lit in the camera panel for your Axon camera on the Control tab. Wi-Fi is enabled for the duration of the following actions; evidence review, live view, and priority upload.
