When you need to change the owner of evidence to another user, you can reassign the evidence from the results of an evidence search or from the Evidence Detail Page.
Reassigning Evidence from the Evidence Search Page
- Search for the evidence that you want to reassign to another user.
- For each evidence file that you want to reassign, select the check box to the left of the evidence.
- Above the search results, click Reassign.
A dialog box appears. - In the Reassign To box, start typing the name of the user you want to assign the evidence to, wait for Evidence.com to show the list of matching users and select the appropriate user.
- Click Reassign.
- In the confirmation dialog box, click OK.
The search results show that the user you selected is now the evidence owner.
Reassigning Evidence from the Evidence Detail Page
You can assign evidence to a user. The user to whom you assign evidence becomes the owner of the evidence.
On the Evidence Detail page, the Reassign button appears above the evidence preview.
- Click Reassign. The Reassign dialog box appears.
- In the Reassign To box, start typing the name of the user you want to assign the evidence to, wait for Evidence.com to show the list of matching users and select the appropriate user.
- Click Reassign.
- On the confirmation message box, click Yes.
- On notification message box, click OK.
