Users with the correct Rights can modify some file properties and view other information about the file. Only the file Title, Description, Primary User, Secondary User, access controls can be modified.
- Select the file in the Assets pane
- Right-click on the file and select Properties. The Asset Properties dialog box appears.
The Cabinets, Folders, and Destinations tabs show the file associations with those objects. - Edit the file information (Title, Description, Primary User, and Secondary User) as needed.
- To change access control to the file, click the Security tab.
This tab has the list of user and group access control (Allowed and Restricted) rules for the folder. The list is blank if this is the first time you are assigning access control to a folder.
- Use the controls to set access control rules.
There are three lists and two check boxes used to create an access control rule.
- Selection list: This selects the specific user or group to which the access control applies. The users or groups shown in the selection list is determined by which option is selected in the User/Usergroup list (described below).
- User/Usergroup list: This sets if the Selection list (described above) shows a list of users or Groups. If User is selected, then a list of all users is shown in the Selection list. If Usergroup is selected, then a list of all groups is shown in the Selection list.
- Allow/Restrict list: This sets the type of access control. When Allow is selected the user or group is allowed access to the folder. When Restrict is selected the user or group is restricted from accessing the folder.
- Inherits security settings from cabinets and folders placed into: When selected the access control settings from a parent Cabinet or folder are inherited and apply to the file. This is selected by default.
- After the user or group and access controls are selected, click Add to add the access control rule.
- Use the controls to set access control rules.
- Click Apply to save the file property changes.
- Click Close to exit the Asset Properties dialog box.
