Markers are used to indicate a significant event in a video or audio file so that the event can be accessed quickly in the future. In addition to manually adding markers in Axon Commander, camera users can add markers while the camera is recording in the field by pressing the Function button on their Axon camera. Markers added using the Function button are marked with a Camera Marker Event Type and can be edited in the same manner as other Markers.
- Open the video or audio file with the player.
- When you reach the appropriate point in the file, click Add Marker.
The Markers dialog opens on the left side of the player.
The Markers list at the top of the dialog shows the markers for the current file. The new marker is highlighted and has a Timestamp and blank Event Type.
- Type or select an Event Type.
If the Event Types exist in the system, you can select the Event Type from the list. Event Types have maximum length of 100 characters. All Event Types are searchable.
- Enter a Description.
You can type any information into the Description field; such as a simple comment or more detailed information. Every word in the Description field is searchable by Axon Commander search.
The Description field has a maximum length of 7000 characters.
- Click Save to save the marker.
You can now search by the information contained in the marker.
- Repeat steps 2 – 5 to add more markers to the file.
