Users with Configure Performance Settings permission can set the squads and configure the metrics that are measured and reviewed in Axon Performance.
The Squads Settings page is used to select which Groups in Axon Evidence are measured and reviewed in Axon Performance. This allows agencies to continue to use the full functionality of the Groups feature in Axon Evidence, while limiting the number of Groups that appear on the Squads Selection page - making it easier for administrators and supervisors to find the squads they monitor.
- Sign in to your Evidence.com account. On the dashboard page, under Axon Performance, click Configure.
Note: If you are on any other page in Evidence.com, you can return to the dashboard by clicking the Axon logo () on the upper left of the menu bar.
The Squad Settings page is shown. From here you can change Squad Settings, Configure BWC Metrics, Set TASER Metrics, Set Email Notifications, set Video Review information, and, if enabled for your agency, set Supervisor Assistant ratings.

After saving, all the Groups that are not selected are moved to the last page of the list. You can configure other Axon Performance settings, return to Axon Evidence.com, or sign out of the system.
Configure BWC Metrics Settings
- Click BWC Metrics.
- On Configure Metrics page, use the toggles to turn on/off the Metrics displayed on the Axon Performance dashboard and set the threshold values for each metric.
Metrics are measurements of the Agency’s body worn camera policies. There are three Axon Performance metrics:
- Activation Rate compares the number of officer Calls for Service with body worn camera videos to the total officer Calls for Service.
- Categorization Rate compares the number of body worn camera videos an officer has categorized to the total number of officer body worn camera videos.
- ID Rate compares the number of body worn camera videos with an officer added or confirmed ID to the total number of officer body worn videos.
- Power Cycling calculates the total time the body-worn camera is powered on while disconnected from an Axon dock and identifies officers that fall below the agency set percentage.
When a Metric is turned on, a field to set the goal and a field to set the completion time (in days) for the Metric is shown. Goals are used to determine what is considered in and out of policy compliance. Goals can be changed at any point in time, but it is important these values are set correctly for your agency. The completion time is used to set a time limit for when the goal is achieved. This is used to calculate the historical view and allows agencies to better define their compliance goals by providing a rate and time for metric completion. For example, in the image above the agency has set the goal of having officers categorize 65% of their videos within 4 days of being uploaded.
If Activation Rate metric is turned on, you can select the Call for Service types and/or Clearance Codes that do not require a body-worn video. Clickin the list and select the item. The selected items are excluded from the Activation Rate calculation.
Note: If your agency does not share Clearance Codes with Axon, only the Call for Service setting applies. - Click Save to save your settings.
You can configure other Axon Performance settings, return to Axon Evidence.com, or sign out of the system.
TASER Metrics
Note: TASER Metrics requires that the Hypermedia Markers feature be enable for your agency. Additionally, your agency’s Axon Body 3 cameras must have OS v1.11 or higher and your Axon Body 2/Flex 2 cameras must have firmware v1.25 or higher.
The metrics show the total number of TASER armed events, arc events, and trigger events across the agency, for individual squads and officers. The information is presented on the Management View, Squad Dashboard, and Officer pages.
- Click TASER Metrics.
- Use the toggle to turn on/off if the metric is displayed on the Axon Performance dashboards.
- Click Save to save your settings.
You can configure other Axon Performance settings, return to Axon Evidence.com, or sign out of the system.
Email Notification Settings
- Click Email Notification.
- Use the toggles to turn on/off the email notification settings. There are two Email Notification settings:
- Supervisor Feedback to Officers provides the supervisor the ability to send an email directly to the officer from Axon Performance. This is beneficial for officer follow-ups or as a call to action. The supervisor is automatically added as a CC recipient. The email sender name is Performance and the email sender address is noreply-performance@evidence.com. The email is sent to the officer's email address in his or her user profile.
For example, an email to an officer could be, “You currently have 12 videos uncategorized; please categorize in Evidence.com” or “Keep up the good work.” - Automatic Notifications provides the option to set reminders and notifications for important events from Performance. An agency can tailor the notifications by selecting how often the notifications are sent, which metrics trigger an email, and add additional comments to include in the notification. An example of the email subject and content is shown below the settings.
The scheduling settings determine how often and when the notifications are sent - Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. The email timing options vary depending on the selected Repeat value - Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.
- Daily allows you to select the time of day the notification is sent.
- Weekly allows you to select the day of the week and time of day the notification is sent.
- Monthly allows you to select the week of the month, the day of the week, and time of day the notification is sent.

Video Review Settings
- Click Video Review and use the toggle to turn on/off the feature.
If Video Review is turned on, set the following items:
- Review Goal – This sets the number of reviews that supervisors should conduct on a weekly basis. The total number can be set on a per squad or per officer basis. If set on a per officer basis, then the number of reviews is multiplied by the number of officers in the squad to determine the goal. For example, if you set 10 reviews per officer and a squad has 10 officers, then the review goal is 100 reviews.
- Review Goal Notifications – This sets if an email is sent to squad supervisors who have not met their video review goal for the week as a reminder to complete their video reviews. The email reminder is sent every Thursday at 10:00 am.
- Weekly Review Summary Notifications – This sets if an email notification is sent to selected recipients with a list of squads that did not complete their video review goal for the prior week. The email notification is sent every Monday at 10:00 am. The recipient list can be modified at any time.
- Review Period – This allows you to set maximum age, in days, for videos selected for random reviews. The setting can be between 1 and 180 days.
- Category Filter - This allows you to exclude certain video categories from showing up in the Video Review.
For example, you can exclude any videos with the Equipment Test category. Alternatively, if you only want to review one category, for example Traffic Stops, exclude all categories except for Traffic Stops. - Video Duration - This sets the minimum and maximum length, in minutes, for videos to be considered for random review.
- Video Review Criteria - This sets the review criteria options a reviewer can select during a video review. There can be a maximum of nine criteria options. There are eight default options. You can add, edit, and delete the options.

Supervisor Assistant Settings
The Priority-Ranked Video Audit feature uses key words from the actual transcribed text of the video (as well as other events like un-holstering a TASER device or firearm) to prioritize and recommend which videos to review first. This allows supervisors use their time more effectively, focus on the videos that may deserve the most attention, and quickly jump to the important moments in the video with a review experience powered by Axon's unique hypermedia viewer.
Note: Axon Auto-Transcribe must be enabled for your agency and this feature will consume agency transcription minutes.
If the Priority-Ranked Video Audit feature is enabled for your agency and Video Review is enabled, you can turn on and adjust the Supervisor Assistant settings.
Note: Video review Duration and Category Filter settings do not apply to Supervisor Assistant video review recommendations.
When Supervisor Review is enabled, the configured sample rate is applied to videos uploaded in the last 30 days. Moving forward, that sample rate is applied to daily video uploads.
- Click Supervisor Assistant.
- Use the toggle to turn on the feature.
- Select the Keyword Sampling Rate. This sets the percentage of videos at your agency that are checked for keywords. Note that TASER and Signal event checks are processed for all videos at your agency.
- Optionally, you can add a custom list of keywords for the system to check in the Add custom keywords field.
When entering words add a comma between each word. You can enter up to 100 words in the field. - Click Save to save your changes.
